First Jon and Matthew demonstrate the tonal difference between 42AWG magnet wire and 43AWG magnet wire in a Telecaster and Broadcaster and Nocaster style pickups. They play twin, 70th Anniversary, Fender Broadcaster guitars, one equipped with ThroBak Broadcaster – A3 Classic pickups, (with 43awg wire), and another with ThroBak Nocaster – A3 Classic pickups, (with 42AWG wire). Hear how bow sizes magnet wire change the tone of a Telecaster bridge pickup with the same number of coil turns. Both pickups use ThroBak USA made A3 magnets and both pickups have the same number of wire turns. Both pickups are hand wound, making them perfect for this A/B Telecaster pickup comparison. All guitars are played clean and dirty through the vintage ThroBak 1979 Fender Deluxe Reverb a Nobels ODR-1 effect pedal.
