Fender Roadworn Telecaster Pickup Comparison – Tex Mex vs Lollar

Fender Mexican Roadworn 50’s telecaster.
Fractal Audio AX-8 w/Fender Tweed 1×12 (Free Download from Website).
Tex-Mex pickups VS Lollar Vintage neck, and Special Bridge Tele set.
Recorded in Logic. Only a high-pass filter and compression used.

Just noodling around on each pickup.
They sound pretty similar to me, but I felt the Lollars were sweeter and cleaner. They were also a bit more ‘fun’ to play.

I managed to swap this set out in a few hours and make this video.
The tele has a flipped wire harness. Pickup selector in the back, then Tone, then Volume. Just something I wanted to try out and it’s stuck around.
Normally has a black sctrachplate, but I took it off for this demo.

Free download of the Fractal Audio AX-8 patch is available from my website.
