Let’s explore why anyone would want to install a Seymour Duncan Hot Rails pickup in a Telecaster. The short answer is… “it depends”. Are you chasing high-gain tones, looking to eliminate single-coil hum, or just wanting to push your Telecaster into territory not traditionally thought of with a Telecater? Then you might want one of these. . On the flip side, this mod might not be the best choice for traditionalists or those seeking the classic Tele twang.

I’ll give you my thoughts and then we’ll do a quick demo of the pickup to showcase its sounds in various styles—clean, overdriven, and high-gain—so you can decide if the Hot Rails is right for you.
